WSISでスイス大統領演説がチュニジア検閲カット！

Swiss Infoは2005年11月18日に、WSIS(the World Summit on the Information Society)でスイスのサミュエルシュミット(Samuel Schmid)大統領の演説が、チュニジアの公共テレビCanal 7で放送されかけたが、検閲にひっかかってカットされ、それを聞いたのは、ただ一人の観衆であった代表だけで、長い拍手を得たそうです。

Samuel Schmid大統領は開会の辞で、「It is, quite frankly, unacceptable for the United Nations to continue to include among its members states which imprison citizens for the sole reason that they have criticised their government on the internet or in the media,(全く率直に言って、市民を彼らがインターネット上でまたはメディアで彼らの政府を批評した唯一の理由の罪で刑務所に入れ、そ国連のメンバーの中に含み続けることは受け入れがたいです)」と演説し、チュニジア政府によって国際的市民協会とメディアのメンバーが否定的な分析をしたことにより、身体的な弊害が与えられた最近の事件に言及し、1人のジャーナリストはチュニスで刺し殺され、襲撃される多くの他とWSIS関連のウェブサイトはブロックされたと言った内容だったそうです。

Samuel Schmid大統領の率直なコメントの後、Samuel Schmid大統領はチュニジアのベンアリ(Ben Ali)大統領の次の席に再び戻って座ったそうです。

ベンアリ(Ben Ali)大統領は、スイス大統領が痛烈な批判を始めるとすぐに、Canal 7を解説者がカットするように指示することを知っていたそうです。
