Media Networkは2005年11月7日に、世界で初のエスペラント語放送「Internacia Televido」が2005年11月5日に始まったと報告した。

エスペラント・ニュースWebサイト「Gangalo」の統計によれば「Internacia Televido」の視聴者のおよそ60パーセントが外国人で、主にヨーロッパ人、米国人、および日本語だそうです。
チャンネルは10人のスタッフで作られ、1日あたり4時間放送され、1日あたりでは3人の常勤者が1.5時間づつ放送することになる。 現在のところ、6カ月間放送するだけ基金を確保し、今後は広告収入と個人的な寄付により、放送時間の拡大を望んでいると報告している。

テレビのデジタル化に伴い、いろいろ放送内容が増えそうですね。

先日も Media Networkはテルスター12を使ったコプト語の「Aghapyテレビ」が2005年11月14日から放送を開始すると報告しています。
